A week full of magic

Tuesday night Jordan, Lincoln, and I joined Nate and Lauren Mitchell on a quick trip to California. We all packed into Nate's little car, (seriously we were packed, that Lincoln kid has some broad shoulders) and we were on our way. Unfortunately I had a cold and sounded like a smoker, but fortunately that permitted me to take NyQuil during the car rides which makes for some sweet traveling.

Our day at Disneyland & California Adventures was a blast! Of course my favorite ride was the Haunted Mansion. It never gets old and I can't get enough of how it makes my stomach feel! We ate our little hearts out and burned some holes in our wallets. Disneyland has the power to do that you know. We finished our night off with The World of Color show and I don't know why but it made me want to be a better person. hahah. After the show we played some more and I realized how tired I was during the Star Tours. I was picked to be the captain and when my picture popped up on the screen none of us realized it was me because I looked stoned or something. You kind of had to be there but it really was funny, I promise. When we finally made it back to Tanner and Brynne's house we couldn't get a hold of Tanner and all of our phones died except for Jordan's with 10%. They live in a gated apartment complex so we had Lincoln break in and let us in. We thought for sure that would be the last of our troubles but when we got to their house we couldn't get them to open the door or answer their phones. We hadn't ever had that happen so we were worried that they got in a car accident or something but we decided by that point sleeping by the door was as good a place as any. Luckily after a while Tanner answered his phone and let us in. The poor couple was just so tired they were sleeping like babies! We're glad it wasn't all night, but we liked that it gave us a little more excitement to our trip :)

Thursday we had a beach day at Santa Monica and it was just what the doctor ordered. Really, it helped with my cold. We went back to Tan and Brynne's and luckily were able to eat some Indian Curry, watch So You Think You Can Dance, and hang out with them before we headed home.

We didn't get home until about three in the morning on Friday so naturally I slept in until 1:00. That's the first time I have ever done that in my entire life, and I'm not sure how people can do that on a regular basis. A couple hours later I was headed to Salt Lake with the Forbes family to go and see Wicked! Once I got up there I found out Bekah wasn't going to be able to meet up with us until Saturday night just before the show so I had a fun filled weekend without her. I'm like so super close with her family and we have tons of inside jokes now ;) I feel bad because I got really sick on our drive up and they had to put up with me blowing my nose 90% of the trip, but they never complained and her sweet parents tried to help me out so that was nice. I have been dying to see Wicked since 7th grade. I remember telling Brett Schiller over MSN that when I grew up I wanted to be in the Broadway show Wicked. I really thought that was going to happen, you guys! Anywhoosies I loved it so much and it was definitely worth every penny! I sort of felt like I was in New York all over again, with Bekah :)

It was a great week but man alive it feels so good to be home with my family. On that note I'm going to leave you with my favorite song from the show. I told Bekah that when I die she has to sing it at my funeral :)
