a time for thanks

If you know me you probably know that I love, love, love Thanksgiving, and this year did not disappoint. Torill and I didn't want to drive up to Ogden so we decided to take front runner. Neither of us wanted to leave our cars parked at the station all week so we decided to walk to trax and take it down to the station. We live a little under a mile away from trax so it was quite the walk with all of our bags. It was especially sad when Tor realized she forgot her bag of shoes and had to run back home when we were halfway there. It took forever to get to the front runner station but it was just a fun/funny time if you know what I mean. And we were mistaken as high school students.. who had been out shopping so that was fun. Is it a regular thing to go shopping with duffel bags? It was sweet taking front runner because I made Torill watch my favorite show, Parenthood, with me. I made a goal to not watch TV unless I am watching it with someone and I was dyyyyyying to see the new episode. That's what you have to do when you love TV too much.  Later that day Torill and I went hot tubing and then had a fun little photo taking session with Talia.
Thanksgiving day we stuck with tradition and went and watched my brothers and friends play in the annual Turkey Bowl. This year was a little different for me. Normally when I come up I am dying to see my family that I never see, being my cousins, but this year it was my dear mother. She asked me if I wanted to go grocery shopping with her and I jumped on the idea. She even talked me into making a pie! I think this is the first time I've ever helped contribute to dinner (I know I'm terrible) unless you count the rock hard caramel apple fiasco last year. The pie was the easiest, and it turned out super good! My mom is all about finding good desserts that are extremely easy to make. You should see how she makes peach cobbler. Dinner was extra fun this year because one of the Lowe families who I rarely ever see decided to make the trip from Colorado! It was a real treat I tell you. After dinner it is a tradition for all of the cousins to go see a movie. This year was an epic fail. We should have taken my advice and finished off strong with our tradition of seeing the Twilight movies, but there was some opposition so we ended up seeing Lincoln. I slept through half of it and I woke up at the end when Lincoln got shot and I couldn't stop crying. I had to tell myself to get it together but I couldn't and I was trying so hard not to cry when we were walking out of the theater.
The rest of the weekend was great. Lots more hot tubing, cousin time, eating etc. etc. took place. However one of my favorite activities was a nice long bike ride with Torill and Blake. We cruised around Ogden high, rode down stairs (that was a first for me), and then rode down to Christmas village. Later Torill and I went hot tubing, picked up some delish Pizza from The Pie, and then watched Moonrise Kingdom with Blake and Lil. Blake loved it which made me love it more. I don't know why but I feel like if Blake approves of something then it is awesome. I love my family, and love every second I get to be with them. That is one of the biggest advantages to being up in Salt Lake for school, being so close to family. I have lots of blessings and lots to be thankful for and I better not forget it.

I'm going to frame that picture 10,000 times and place them around Salt Lake City on street poles and bulletin boards.
