The last couple of weeks have been quite joyful.
Wanna know why?
I'll tell you.
It started out with a job interview for a lifeguard position in Ogden. The interview was conducted by Torill & a girl named Sugar so there wasn't much presha. I got the job & moved to Ogden the next day. I was going to wait a little longer but my room in SLC was so hot I couldn't take one more night in it. It was sad leaving that little green house, and I miss seeing my brothers everyday. Good thing I love living in my cousin Talia's very cold basement room, hanging out with Torill, and getting to see my aunt & uncle all the time. They take care of me here :)
Torill & I woke up at 5:30 a.m. to volunteer at the Ogden Marathon with my uncle John. I thought I was going to feel guilty the whole time for not running in it since I was signed up but nope, not one bit. It was raining the whole time, & we spent a large portion of the morning sitting in the car trying to warm our hands. I did feel guilty about that ;) Later that day we went up to Eden for a little family get together. We talked babies & weddings which as Braxton, the boy I tutor, would say I actually quite enjoyed that actually.
I headed home for the 2nd weekend in a row for a dentist appointment. I've had a toothache for the last 4 months so I was thrilled to see a dentist! I chose a great weekend to come home because we had our annual "May birthday's party" at the Berry's house. It was so fun to see Tika who I hadn't seen in like 7 months. That sweet girl will forever be a little sister to me. My family is blessed with some awesome friendships that I sure do miss when I am up at school.
I went to Zumba for the first time since last Summer with Bekah and I loved every second of it. Actually that's a lie, I didn't really love the Latino dances but whatevs. Lexie joined us after Zumba and it felt just like the old days. I love the three of us as friends so much. I don't know why but when it's just us three I haven't changed a bit since the 7th grade. Ohhhh to be young again ;)
After getting home from St. George Torill wanted to go to Logan to see Talia. Her fiance Nick was gone for the night so we got Tal all to ourselves. We stayed at her new house which is to diiiiiiiiie for! Seriously it is the cutest/dreamiest. It could be in a Nicholas Sparks movie. Jk but speaking of Nicholas Sparks we rented Safe Haven since Tal hadn't seen it & we all fell asleep so we had to watch it again the next day. What a treat it was for me!
I've been trying to soak up this amazing weather as much as possible before it gets hot. Whether it's running in the mountains, picnicking, music time with Torill, reading on the porch, or riding our bikes to Jake's Over the Top for ice cream (quite the trek), it feels amazing to be outside & actually doing something. I really deprived myself of that feeling during my last month of school.
Brynne and Tanner have a new baby boy, Morris Tanner Frei, & I was able to hold him for quite some time this afternoon. He didn't even cry! He is perfect & I am so excited to watch this little guy grow up. I look up to Brynne and Tanner in so many ways & have always felt their love & support. I can only imagine how much love they are going to give that little Frei guy. Even though I accidentally put "Morris's farewell" instead of "Morris's blessing" in my calender today, I am so happy he is going to be around for awhile before they move back to California, and before he goes on a mission. Unless the mission age changes again..
One more thing. I decided not to take the lifeguard job in Ogden & I am moving home June 9th. I will be working as a cashier at Dutchman's! Feel free to stop by and say hi ;) Ogden has been so great. The Contos familia has been more than welcoming to me. The problem is I already have 6 trips planned to St. George for the Summer so I figured I'll be able to save more money if I'm not spending all my money on gas. I'll make a few trips up here throughout the Summer, but at least they wont be all by myself! Also, Cass and Tyler will be moving home in July and I honestly don't think I could handle not being near them and their kids before school starts up again. I'm pretty sure I'm obsessed with my nieces and nephews (nephew is plural now!!). So if you are in St. George for the Summer as well call me everyday ;)
Anywhoosies life is good right now. It's simple, but I like it.
