Last weekend was pretty killer. Friday consisted of acing my quiz in math (this is a rare occasion so I was quite pleased with myself), laying out by the pool with Bailey and Torill, and attending Crimson Nights or is it Crimson Night? I always avoid saying it because I never know. I went to Crimson Night(s) with Tyler and his friend Nicole and her boyfriend Anthony. We had a fun time dancing, but we didn't stay long because Anthony wasn't feeling well. Even though it was super fun, I wasn't bummed that we couldn't stay all night. We later hung out with Patrick and Torill and played journey but Tyler and I fell asleep so it was really just Torill and Patrick. When I woke up and tried to tell Tyler that everyone had left he was in complete denial and was quite upset that they didn't even finish the game. I'm pretty sure he was really out of it, haha.
I had a terrible night's sleep on Friday so Saturday was the laziest day ever for me. Jenna and I laid out by the pool, and it was really nice because it wasn't very warm, so we weren't sweating to death. It has been so amazing to have such great weather, and I must admit, I am really missing living right by Liberty Park! I honestly didn't do much the rest of the day but Saturday night Torill, Patrick, and myself headed up to Tyler's family's house in Kaysville. I always love when we go there because it feels so good to hang out in an actual home rather than an apartment or dorm. We went to Tyler and Patrick's friend Cassidy's birthday party. It consisted of a backyard BBQ, sitting around a fire, and playing dance central, or whatever that game is called. It was really laid back and fun, and I was super happy because I've been wanting to have a backyard BBQ for like a year now. There's just something about it that can't be beat..especially if hot dogs are involved!! ;) After the party we went back to Tyler's house and watched Perks of Being a Wallflower! I loved that movie when I saw it for the first time, but for some reason I loved it 10 times more watching this time around.
This was the ultimate cousin dance off
Thank goodness Torill and I didn't have a cousin dance off because she would have killed me
On Sunday, Torill and I convinced Tyler and Patrick to come to our family's Sunday dinner in Ogden. They agreed to come, and it made all of my dreams come true. It was Berk's 30th birthday celebration so we had A LOT of delicious food, including grilled salmon and lemon garlic potatoes, two of my favorites! Everyone was so happy to finally meet Tyler and I was so happy he got to meet some of my family. I'm pretty sure it was probably overwhelming meeting so many family members, and trying to remember their names, but he made it look like a piece of cake and he was so, so nice about coming.
It was a great weekend! Lots of time outside, and three days in a row with some of my favorite people! Life is so nice and sometimes I wonder how it's even possible for things to be so good. I guess you could say I'm pretty happy right now :)
