Britas Bay saved my life this summer. When I moved to Ireland I came to terms with the fact that I wouldn't be having a regular summer, but having this great beach to go to made my heart real happy. Before Mandi was able to drive we were going to all kinds of beaches near different dart stops. It was quite lovely, and it was pretty magical going to these hazy, rocky, beaches. It all felt very Irish if you ask me. That is until our  Californian friend, Jessica, informed us of this beach that was more like a California beach. We embarked on the most obnoxious drive, thanks to siri, but our spirits were quickly lifted when we stepped foot on the soft sand and played in the warm water. We raved and raved about that beach all day long, and when we woke up to sunshine the next morning, we decided it was time for another beach day. While we were getting ready for the beach Owen picked up one of the sharpest knives in the house and sliced his finger really bad. This delayed us going, and as Mandi was talking to Bryce on the phone, he mentioned that we should go to his boss's favorite beach, Britas Bay. We wrapped up Owens finger (turns out he should have had stitches, oops!) and headed south. The drive was beautiful and the beach was a dream. We had to walk on a magical little pathway to get to the beach which is always a bonus. The water wasn't too cold, the beach wasn't extremely crowded, and the water stayed shallow for a long time so the boys could go out in the water and play without one of us having to be with them at all times. Britas Bay was kind of like my boyfriend this summer, and I'm really missing him right about now!
