the frei's take on ireland

Tanner, Brynne and Morrie came to Ireland for two weeks in August, and it was one of the highlights of the summer! We had two weeks of jam packed, rockin' good fun. On their first day here we didn't have much planned since we knew they would be jet lagged, so we took them to down to Bray to hang out on the beach for a little while in the evening and then hung out at home. I've become so accustomed to Ireland that I forget how different it is here, so Bray was a big hit.
The next morning we woke up bright and early to go to the Newgrange tombs in Bru na Boinne. These tombs were built in 3200 B.C.-- they are actually more like an ancient temple than a tomb. Morrie even buckled in with me on the bus and it was kind of a dream come true. I love and miss that little guy so much!
We came home and let everyone have their naps. Brynne and I took Morrie to the park by our house and decided that since it was such a lovely day we needed to head to Wicklow Mountain National Park. We didn't go on any hikes, but instead hung out by the lake and played on the big grass field for a couple of hours. This is my favorite nearby place to visit, and it always presents a magical time.
