Fist things first. Portugal is awesome. Like seriously it is one of the coolest places I have ever been. I guess that doesn't mean too much since I'm not a super well traveled person, but I think anyone who has been would probably agree with me. It was awesome because first of all it was beautiful, not too touristy, the people were friendly, the fish (especially salmon) was incredible, and everything was so inexpensive. Not to mention everything we did was just dang fun, oh and there was delicious gelato on every corner. Really you just can't go wrong with Portugal.
Getting to Portugal was an adventure. I tagged along with the Winkleman family so it was me, Mandi, Bryce, and their four year old twins Owen and Isaac, and their one year old Jack. You should have seen us trying to get around at the Dublin airport. We had so many babies, bags, and car seats. I never realized how difficult it is to travel with children. I have a whole new admiration for people who are able to do it. When we made it to Lisbon we had to wait a while for our rental car, and when we finally got it, it was a mini bus, or as we liked to call it, a maxi van. Probably because of sleep deprivation Mandi and I had an uncontrollable laugh attack over the van. Honestly looking back now I don't get why it was so funny, but there were tears coming out of my eyes I was laughing so hard. We had a three hour drive to Lagos, the town we were staying in. I enjoyed the drive because it finally gave me a chance to sleep! I was so tired from arriving from UT and then quickly taking off again, but thankfully after Portugal I was able to get used to the time difference. We did a whole bunch of things including, lots of beach days, eating out at great places, enjoying yummy pastries for breakfast everyday, hanging out in their dreamy downtown, going on a small boat tour, going to different cliffs, and seeing the 'edge of the world.'
My pictures don't do Portugal justice but there ya have it.
